Manage More Clients

Effectively managing your clients will create happy and loyal customers. But what is client management and how can you use that to build your clientele? In a nutshell, client management is the way you manage your working relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction. Client management encompasses all aspects of a client relationship including discovering their needs, creating a plan to meet those needs, and the ongoing execution of service.
Having a successful client management strategy will create positive, long-lasting relationships with clients and could allow you to expand your business in the future. Let’s take a look at some ways to build an effective client management strategy.
Establish One Place
There are so many places you can communicate with your client: Slack, email, text, phone call, etc. In order to effectively communicate with each client, you need to establish one place for that communication to happen. This one place could be different for each client, but you need to know who you are communicating with and where so you can find important documents and keep track of tasks.
Communication is important, and having meaningful communication is even more important. You need to make sure what you are saying makes sense to your client and you are communicating effectively and promptly.
By implementing effective and prompt communication, you will build trust and show your clients that you:
• Understand what they want and expect from working with you
• Care about their problems and needs and are committed to providing effective solutions
• Want your clients to feel valued, trusted, and satisfied.
Part of meaningful communication is being transparent with expectations so that everyone is on the same page and does not feel let down when things go a different way. You also need to make sure you follow up. Once you have a conversation or make a decision about something, make sure you follow up somehow to again enforce what needs to be taken care of and what was discussed. Open communication in a client relationship is crucial to a successful partnership.
Cultivate Effective Data
Just like communication platforms, there are many places that data is stored, and the data could become convoluted and inaccurate. As a business advisor, it is important that you cultivate effective and accurate data for your client. A good way to do that is to make sure you have access to their accounting platform. Whether it be QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or another platform, have access to it so you can see the data firsthand.
Work smarter, not harder
There are countless amounts of strategies and technologies that can help you manage clients and build relationships. Find them. Use them.
Set aside time at the beginning of each week and each day to organize your tasks. Make sure you have time to take care of all of your client’s needs before they are due – and still have time for yourself.

Managing your clients in an effective way will help you reduce stress and allow you to scale up your business. By having a strategy and working the strategy, you can make managing clients easier. Once you put this process in place, you will be able to handle more clients and build your business as much or as little as you want – all while still providing quality service to your clients.
